Purplevine

This big shrub grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for around 77 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many very thick, curved stems covered in smooth, yellow bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches are long and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of miniature, fan-like, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are solid brilliant purple or cream, with blue dots, tough and soft.

In early spring it produces a handful of large, aquamarine flowers with V-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like bleach.
