Indigo Spike

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall. The tapering stem is yellow-green, and is covered in hundreds of flexible indigo spines. The cuboid body is moss green, and is dotted with small washed-out green spines.

It is slow growing, taking 47 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with alternating petals of sky blue and amber, with a silver central disk grows at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is largely flat with 33 widely spaced narrow petals. It has a strong scent that smells like a man.

The cactus's skin is thin, the magenta flesh is smooth, and the brown sap is thin.
