Burgundy Spire Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This large tree grows up to 84 meters (275.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 307 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in hard, waxy, burgundy bark, and inside, the light wood is burgundy-brown.

The numerous branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of sticky, small, sickle shaped leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of gray that gradient shifts to red at the top.

In late summer it forms small, slate, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
