Magenta Desert Rose
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)This small flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its pink-red stem is thick, and the tiny, gray-green leaves are needle-like with tattered edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.
A single giant flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with dull red petals and a magenta central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 petals. They fall easily.
It has an intensely strong scent that smells like warm cookies, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by a variety of insects.
It is suitable for making paper
