Desert Lily

This enormous flower grows up to 14.3 feet (4.4 meters) tall. Its gray-green stems grow in bunches of 8 and are very thick with a curved tip, and the small, magenta leaves are slender, pointed with serrated edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Two giant flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 46 cm (18.1 inches) wide, with solid lilac petals decorated with caramel dots and a white central disk. The flower head is largely flat with 28 raised round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like rotten egg, and it has an average amount of pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
