Dampwillow

This big flower grows up to 2.9 feet (89 cm) tall. Its brown stems grow in bunches of 6 and are thin and straight, and the large, silver leaves are asymmetrical with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 4 to 9 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 17 cm (6.7 inches) wide, with solid red petals decorated with slate lines and a violet central disk. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of widely spaced narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has a fairly strong scent that smells like damp, and it has very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
