Magenta Grass

Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This large, beige and red grass grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The asymmetrical stalks grow in thin clumps that are delicate.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, magenta flower.

During the mid-summer, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with plenty of small grains.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It is often home to a particular bird species.
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
