Copperwood

This massive tree grows up to 145 meters (475.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 91 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in fine, wrinkled, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the flexible wood is brown.

The small handful of branches are very long and thin and are covered with large amounts of soft, small, 3 pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are solid drab orange with cream patches.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of tiny, brown blossoms with 8 spiral shaped petals. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like a man.

In late summer it forms large, grey, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
