Purple Vine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This enormous vine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 1,130 feet (344.4 meters) and growing as high as 444 feet (135.3 meters).

It takes 19 years for the yellow or purple stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 1.7 feet (51 cm) and are thick and twisted.

The fan-like, leathery leaves reach up to 4.0 feet (1.2 meters) in length. They are found in green and purple varieties, and have smooth edges.

It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is frequently struck by lightning.
