Crimsonvine

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.1 feet (33 cm) tall. Its yellow stem is thin and straight with a curved tip, and the miniature, gray leaves are circular with tattered edges. 3 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

2 to 7 large flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 35 cm (13.8 inches) wide, with petals that are crimson on the underside and green on the top. The flower head is largely flat with 15 widely spaced narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like new carpet, and it has excessive amounts of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is visited by a large variety of them.
