Clinging Mahogany

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This big tree grows up to 85 meters (278.9 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 591 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, crooked trunk covered in silky, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is pine-coloured.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of smooth, large, fan-like leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of azure that gradient shifts to grey at the top.

In late summer it forms large, red, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.

All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
The leaves and petals are often used to make tea.
It is suitable for making paper
The sap is drab red.
