Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In damp forests.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is slightly flimsy.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release hundred of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
