Turquoise Heartvine

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. Its emerald stem is thin and splits into 7 branching stems a quarter of the way up, and the small, moss green leaves are long, narrow with smooth edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Each stem splits 5 to 9 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 43 cm (16.9 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of turquoise. The flower head is shaped like a heart with 33 raised, narrow petals. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like a damp log, and it has excessive amounts of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by a small species of bird.

It comes in 13 varieties, each with a different petal colour.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
