Emerald Heath Moss

This lime green moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In heathlands, On rotten logs, and In bogs.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is extremely frail.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release dozens of spores.
