Yellow Sphere Flower

This big flower grows up to 5.9 feet (1.8 meters) tall. Its emerald stem is thin and straight, and the miniature, gray-green leaves are very thick with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Two small flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 55 cm (21.7 inches) wide, with petals that are generally yellow; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is shaped like a sphere with 22 raised, round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has a strong scent that smells like a newborn baby, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.
