Emerald Petal
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This small flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its emerald stem is wispy and straight, and the huge, yellow leaves are perforated with ripped edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.
Hundreds of small flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with amber petals that gradient shift to cyan on the outer edge. The central disk is bright green. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of many tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They detach easily.
It has an overpowering scent that smells like cherry, and it has excessive amounts of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
