Magenta Lemonflower
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.6 feet (48 cm) tall. Its emerald stems grow in bunches of 5 and are thin and straight, and the miniature, silver leaves are finger-like with toothed edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.
5 to 10 tiny flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 14 cm (5.5 inches) wide, with solid magenta petals decorated with orange lines and a green central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 curved petals. They are hardy.
It has a fairly strong scent that smells like lemon, and it has lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
