Turquoise Fan Tree

This modest-sized tree grows up to 24 meters (78.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 123 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a narrow, slanted trunk covered in paper-thin, waxy, light gray bark, and inside, the dense wood is brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with thick bunches of waxy, tiny, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are generally turquoise.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, aquamarine blossoms with pleated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like sweat.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, beige, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
