Red Vine Flower

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized flower grows up to 11 inches (28 cm) tall. Its emerald stems grow in bunches of 8 and are wispy and straight, and the large, cream leaves are light red on the underside and are 6 pointed with serrated edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

3 to 7 small flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 16 cm (6.3 inches) wide, with petals that are generally black; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of many raised, round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like a newborn baby, and it has lots of pollen. It is a self-pollinator.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
