Emerald Shield Moss

This lime green moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas In heathlands, and On trees.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is slightly rigid.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release dozens of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
It can absorb up to 9 times its own weight in water.
