Goldenbell

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 694 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, slanted trunk covered in very thick, wrinkled, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is yellow-brown.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with copious amounts of clammy, tiny, thin leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in gold and slate varieties.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of tiny, cream blossoms with pleated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like pine needles.

In late summer it forms tiny, orange, shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
It is suitable for making strong rope
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
