Pink-Red Clinger

This large flower grows up to 6.8 feet (2.1 meters) tall. Its pink-red stem is wispy and straight with a curved tip, and the huge, pink-red leaves are needle-like with rounded edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 71 cm (28.0 inches) wide, with solid muted purple petals decorated with olive dots and a cyan central disk. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of several tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like wet dog, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
