Mahogany
Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 22 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has dozens of flexible, straight stems covered in ridged, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is brown.
The branches are tall, rigid and upright that and are covered with small bunches of huge, wispy, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are found in dark brown, bronze and amber varieties, robust and soft.
It produces large amounts of large, sky blue flowers with needle-like petals. They fall easily and have a strong scent that smells like citrus. In mid-summer it forms giantgold aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
