Lemonpine

Shrub type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 120 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many knobbly, straight stems covered in thin, wrinkled, pine-coloured bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches trail down across the ground that and are covered with thick bunches of small, long, tapering, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid bright green with azure dots, frail and clammy.

It produces a handful of tiny, cream flowers with perforated petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like lemon. In early autumn it forms smallgrey seed pods.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
