Orange Glow

This huge caudiciform grows up to 153 feet (46.6 meters) tall. The wide stem is orange, and is covered in handfuls of flexible silver spines. It has a twisting, very thick, slate trunk atop a round stilted platform of knobbly, exposed roots. The branches are stocky and lime or brown and trail down towards the ground.

The smooth-edged, sickle shaped leaves are a shade of burgundy that gradient shifts to light grey at the top. They are robust, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is slow growing, taking 26 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are bright red on the underside and ashy yellow on the top grow at the top, reappearing once every 8 years. The flower head is made up of 41 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. It has an intense scent that smells like musk.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the green flesh is rubbery, and the cream sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
