Silverfern

This enormous caudiciform grows up to 140 feet (42.7 meters) tall. The very thin stem is silver, and is dotted with small silver spines. It has a straight, round, slate trunk atop a bulbous mess of silky, exposed roots. The branches are round and moss green and trail down to the ground.

The wavy-edged, thick leaves are hazel and light grey. They are frail, and detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with solid cream petals decorated with ashy red dots and a olive central disk grows at the top, reappearing once every 3 years. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like onion.

The caudiciform's skin is tough, the green flesh is soft, and the cream sap is thin.
