Violet Fruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 16 feet (4.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 18 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a thick, twisting trunk covered in wrinkled, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is light brown.
The numerous branches trail down to the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, slender, pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are light grey on the edges and violet at the center.
In early spring, it produces copious amounts of giant, azure blossoms with spear shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like marzipan.
In early autumn it produces small, finger-like fruit. The rubbery purple skin is tough and bitter, and the soft magenta flesh is sweet and oily. The silver seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.
The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
