Winding Purple Grass

This small, gray grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The fan-like stalks grow in thick clumps that are flexible and they are exceptionally hardy.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, purple puff.

During the late summer, it produces lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with lots of large grains.
