Violet Tree

This big fruit tree grows up to 40 feet (12.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 37 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, wonky trunk covered in paper-thin, ridged, burgundy bark, and inside, the soft wood is black with white speckles.

The sparse amount of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with copious amounts of tiny, oval-shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either grey or blue, with purple patches.

In early spring, it produces many small, light purple blossoms with many layers of petals. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like sweat.

In early summer it produces tiny, slender, 9 pointed fruit. The fuzzy pink skin is tough and bitter, and the slightly crunchy violet flesh is slightly savoury and very dry. The olive seeds are large and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
