Magenta Tree

This modest-sized tree grows up to 12 meters (39.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 102 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, angular trunk covered in very thick, waxy, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the very dense wood is white.

The branches are very short and thick and are covered with handfuls of sticky, huge, circular leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are azure at the bottom and grey with bronze dots at the top.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of medium-sized, magenta blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like fermented fruit.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, washed-out yellow, shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
