Red Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps On rotten logs, On trees, and In moorlands.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly light; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release thousands of spores.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
Several parts of the flower have medicinal properties.
It is bio-luminescent.
The sap is cream.
