Copperleaf

This modest-sized tree grows up to 37 meters (121.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 75 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in thin, knobbly, silver and white bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is copper-coloured.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small bunches of sticky, huge, very thick leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are generally cream.

In late summer it forms tiny, red, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
