Silverbell

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 138 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has numerous thick, straight stems covered in thick, smooth, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is pale brown.

The branches are long and thin with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of small, very thick, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are silver and bright orange, strong and rough.

It produces a handful of giant, hazel flowers with circular petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like candle wax. In late summer it forms smallbeige, spiky-shelled seeds.

The stems are covered in large spikes.
It is suitable for making paper
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
