Magenta

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 195 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous long and flexible, wonky stems covered in ridged, brown-green speckled bark, and the wood inside is pine-coloured.

The branches are long and thin that and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, 6 pointed, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are either magenta, or sky blue with vivid yellow zig-zags, flimsy and smooth.

It produces lots of large, caramel flowers with slender, pointed petals. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like a damp log. In mid-summer it forms smalllight grey aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The leaves are very toxic, and very salty.
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
