Prickly Purple

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short vine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 13 feet (4.0 meters)0. It prefers to grow on man-made objects.

It takes 9 months for the gray-green stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are rough and prickly.

The thin, clammy leaves reach up to 2 inches (5 cm) in length. They are slate at the bottom and purple with grey dots at the top, and have ripped edges.

During late spring, the vine produces several small faded blue flowers.


It can survive a very long time without water.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
