Limecactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This small cactus grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 6 pleated stems. Each stem is lime green, and is dotted with small grey spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 21 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are black at the sides and cyan at the center grow at the top, reappearing once every 8 years. The flower head is largely flat with 59 widely spaced narrow petals. It has no scent.

The cactus's skin is thin, the pale red flesh is leathery, and the blue sap is thin.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
