Copperberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 26 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in wrinkled, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the light wood is silver.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, perforated leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are orange and gold.

In early spring, it produces dozens of large, copper blossoms with long, tapering petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a soft scent that smells like paint.

In early winter it produces tiny, star-shaped fruit. The soft cream skin is delicate and inedible, and the very soft cream flesh is sweet and very dry. The cream seed is tiny and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

The grains are bitter, but very healthy and can be used to make numerous baked goods.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
