Peach Heartflower

This small flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its moss green stem is very thick, and the small, red leaves are very thin with rounded edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Dozens of giant flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with solid peach petals decorated with blood red dots and a lime central disk. The flower head is shaped like a heart made up of 19 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.

It has a fairly strong scent that smells like new carpet, and it has excessive amounts of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.

It grows well in the sun and full shade.
