Emerald Tree

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for over 3,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 3993 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a stocky, crooked trunk covered in very thick, waxy, dark gray bark, and inside, the dense wood is black with white speckles.

The small handful of branches are short, rigid and upright, with dozens of twigs covered with copious amounts of huge, emerald needles. The needles themselves are sturdy.

In late summer it produces small, intense yellow, shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

The leaves and petals are often used to make tea.
It is said to be the favourite flower of a legendary person.
