Sunburst Cactus
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This small cactus grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The needle-like stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in sharp spines. The wedge-shaped body is emerald, and is covered in handfuls of rigid beige spines.
It is fast growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with brown petals that gradient shift to yellow on the outer edge. The central disk is light brown grows at the top, reappearing after 2 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. It has a weak scent that smells like rotten egg.
The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the indigo flesh is waxy, and the orange sap is thin.
The stems are covered in large spikes.
It has impressive regenerative properties.
It is suitable for making strong rope
The bark, wood and leaves are edible.
